Planning an event in Greater London?

Paella party catering across Greater London

We cater parties at homes, village halls with outdoor space, clubs and hired venues in and around Greater London. We’re often asked to cater christenings and naming days and celebrations of life, serving mixed paella, seafood paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule.

  1. You tell us the date, address, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up our cooking area and start cooking.
  4. The paella cooks while your guests chat, with any tapas served first.
  5. We serve from the pan and clear our cooking area away when we’re done.

What you will pay

There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

Party venues across Greater London

Parties across Greater London are mostly in gardens, halls and hired venues, from London, City of Westminster and Marylebone to small villages. Paella suits every one. Parts of Greater London are within a few miles of the Kent Downs National Landscape, so check venue rules on vehicles and cooking for countryside events.

London: If guests are coming by rail, London has its own station, Elephant & Castle station. Historic houses near London include Mansion House (1 mile north) and Dr Johnson's House (1.2 miles north-west). Grand settings like these frequently have strict catering rules, so for most parties a garden or hired hall is simpler. At midsummer, it’s light in London until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

A hog roast is great for meat lovers, but harder for vegetarians and vegans. Paella covers everyone with separate pans.

The menu, dish by dish

Churros

Sugary churros with chocolate.

Chicken & chorizo paella

Smoky, satisfying and popular with children, and a good choice for guests who don’t eat seafood.

Why live paella works

It works whatever the occasion, from christenings to retirements.

We’re booked for all kinds of occasions in Greater London and nearby. Popular bookings include:

  • Family get-togethers
  • Retirement and leaving parties
  • Milestone birthdays
  • Garden get-togethers

Organising for someone else?

Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Throwing a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

FAQs for Greater London

Should we have more than one paella?

Most events have two or three: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.

Is the paella gluten-free?

Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

Will the neighbours notice?

Paella is cooked over gas, so there’s cooking steam and smell but little smoke. The smell is usually the best advert for the party.

Is halal food available?

Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and we’ll cook a separate pan.

Which areas do you serve?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

Who clears up?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

What about pudding?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one when you ask for a quote.
