Planning an event in London?
Planning the cooking area
We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:
- Somewhere close to park and unload
- A safe distance from anything that could catch
- Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Paella party catering for your party in London
Mixed groups are easy: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood pan and a vegetable or vegan pan side by side. A plain chicken paella keeps children happy. We’re frequently asked to cater anniversary celebrations and retirement celebrations, serving churros, tapas and seafood paella.
In London, parties range from back gardens to function rooms and clubs. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot outside or under cover. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

Working with your venue
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.
If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Why live cooking beats a buffet
Cooking yourself saves money but costs you the party. With live paella, you’re a guest too. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Dishes our guests love
Chicken & chorizo paella
Chicken and chorizo is a crowd-pleaser.
Seafood paella
Seafood paella typically gets the photos, and is best served with lemon.
DIY paella versus live catering
Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.
Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.
What affects the price in London
Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- The number of people
- Starters, canapés and desserts
Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.
What we need to know
These details help us quote quickly:
- Where the event is
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
- A picture of where we’d cook
- Expected numbers
It’s easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll come back with a clear quote.
How the day works
Your timings come first. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we adjust the cooking so it is served at its best. At midsummer, it’s light in London until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.
- It starts with your date, address, numbers and any diets.
- We suggest a menu and confirm a quote.
- We arrive, set up in your garden or venue and start the sofrito.
- Guests gather round as it cooks, nibbling tapas if you’ve booked them.
- We serve from the pan and clear our cooking area away when we are done.
How to prepare
- Let us know the timings for the day
- Get the venue’s permission for cooking
- Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
How to get a price
We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. You can fill in our quote form.

Common questions in London
What’s the nearest station to London for guests?
London has its own station: Elephant & Castle station.
Can you cook in Newington Gardens?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.
Do you cook at halls and clubs?
Yes, if there is a suitable outdoor or ventilated spot to cook. Ask the venue about live cooking.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as you can for summer weekends, which fill up first. Ask about your date.
Do you cover London?
We do. We cook at events in London and across Greater London. Tell us your date and we will check availability.
Do you take everything away?
We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.
Do you provide plates and cutlery?
We can. Let us know what you have, and we’ll quote for the rest.
Do you cook inside?
Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.
