Paella catering in CR4: what to expect
Watching it cook is part of the experience. Guests gather round as the sofrito sizzles and the saffron colours the rice, and the smell does the rest. We’re often asked to cater retirement celebrations and office lunches and staff parties, with vegetable paella, paella Valenciana and chicken and chorizo paella.
A typical event goes like this: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, your guests watch the rice cook, and it’s served hot from the pan when you’re ready to eat.
- Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
- We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
- We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
- Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.
Cost
Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Planning live paella in CR4
Across CR4, we cook in 3 towns and 0 villages and hamlets, so whether your event is in London, Streatham and Colliers Wood or a quiet village, the approach is the same: level ground, ventilation and agreed timings.
Eastfields: Thinking of a picnic-style party in Figge's Marsh? Public parks normally need permission from the council or landowner for cooking, so check first. For guests coming by train, Mitcham Eastfields station is in Eastfields itself. Planning an evening event in Eastfields? Sunset is around 8:50pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.
For planners, venues and organisers
If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.
Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Is live paella right for you?
For something a little different, live paella brings colour, aroma and a touch of Spain.

- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
Prices and what affects them
Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

Questions from CR4
Who clears up?
We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
Can you cater for children?
Children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan a pan with them in mind.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.
Is live paella good for a large crowd?
Very much so. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.
Can we add tapas or canapés?
Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.
Which areas do you serve?
London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.
Can the paella be cooked in a hall?
Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.
