FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about booking live paella catering.
Where do you cater?
We cater across London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight. Find your area.
Do you cook the paella at the event?
Yes. We cook from scratch in large paella pans at your venue, in front of your guests, and serve straight from the pan.
Can you cater for vegetarians, vegans and other diets?
Yes. We cook vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options. Each paella is cooked in its own pan, and we’ll ask about allergies when you book.
What else can you provide?
Tapas and canapés, desserts, sangria, bar staff for drinks you provide, crockery and waiting staff.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your guest numbers, the menu, the courses, the staff you need and how far we travel. Tell us about your event and we’ll send a quote.
What do you need at the venue?
A level space for the pans and burners, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking. We’ll check the details with you.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can. Summer Saturdays book up first. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.
How much space do you need?
Enough for the pans, burners and a serving table on level ground, plus a safe distance from fences, hedges and branches. Small gardens often work; send us a photo.
Can you cook if it rains?
Yes, under cover: a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We’ll agree a plan with you beforehand.
How long are you on site?
It depends on the menu and numbers. We arrive in good time to set up, cook, serve and clear our area, and we’ll agree the timings with you.
How many paellas should we have?
Most events have two or three, such as a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.
How much paella per person?
It depends on whether paella is the main meal and what else is served. Our guide How much paella per person? explains.
Do you provide plates and cutlery?
Yes, if you need them. Tell us what your venue provides and we’ll include the rest in the quote.
Can we provide our own drinks?
Yes. We can provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply, and we can make sangria.
Do you cater for children?
Yes. A simple chicken paella is usually popular with children. Tell us how many are coming.
Is paella gluten-free?
Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stocks and some ingredients may not be. We cook gluten-free paella on request in its own pan; tell us about coeliac guests and allergies when you book.
Can you cater a festival or market?
Yes. Organisers can book us for a public stall or to cater for crew and volunteers. See festival catering.
Do you travel outside the South East?
Our town pages cover London and the South East. For events further afield, ask us.
