Planning a party in Dulwich
Dulwich is about 1 mile south-east of Herne Hill, in Greater London. For paella party catering in Dulwich, we cater in back gardens, halls with outdoor space, barns, marquees and offices in and around Dulwich. We cook in all 764 towns and villages in Greater London.
Thinking of a party in Dulwich Park? Cooking in a public park usually needs permission from the council or landowner, so check first. Christenings and naming days often start at a local church such as Christ's Chapel of God's Gift, with a paella lunch at home or in a hall afterwards.
For paella party catering in SE22, SE21 and SE23, we plan around your venue. Whether your party is on Court Lane, Druce Road and Boxall Road or a nearby road, we can cook there. You’ll find Dulwich on the A2216, which makes it straightforward to bring the equipment. If your venue is just outside Dulwich, we also cover Dulwich Village (1 mile north-west), West Dulwich (1 mile south), Herne Hill (1 mile north-west), Sydenham Hill (1 mile south-east) and Forest Hill (1 mile east). Further out, we also cater in London (4 miles north), City of Westminster (6 miles north-west), Marylebone (6 miles north-west), Kensington (7 miles north-west), St Pancras (6 miles north) and Shoreditch (6 miles north).

Planning for every diet
We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:
- Warn the neighbours
- Have cover ready for a shower
- Keep children and pets away from the burners
- Give separate numbers for children
We’re set up before guests arrive.
Bread, salad and lemon wedges round off the meal.
Your questions about paella party catering in Dulwich
Is parking a problem for events in Dulwich?
London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We’ll plan unloading around it.
What’s the nearest station to Dulwich for guests?
The closest is West Dulwich station, roughly 0.7 miles away.
What areas do you cover?
London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.
Do you bring plates and cutlery?
If you need them. Crockery or disposables can be added.
Will it be noisy or smoky?
There’s a cooking smell, but much less smoke than a barbecue. A friendly note to the neighbours helps.
Can you cater a party at a village hall?
Frequently, yes. We need a suitable spot and the venue’s agreement.
Can you bring crockery?
If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
Live paella or other catering?
Unlike a barbecue, paella is ready at once, so everyone eats together. And there’s no host stuck at the grill. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed before booking.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

How it works
On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. At midsummer, it’s light in Dulwich until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.
- First, we check the date and the space.
- You choose your paellas and any extras.
- We set up the burners and start the sofrito.
- The rice goes in and your guests gather round.
- We serve hot and tidy our area afterwards.
Preparing for the day
- Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
- Choose a level spot for the cooking area
- Make sure we can park close by to unload
