Paella catering across E9
There is something generous about paella: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It turns a meal into an occasion. We’re often asked to cater family celebrations and christenings and company summer parties, serving seafood paella, vegan paella and vegetable paella.
When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. Your guests will smell it before they see it.
- First, tell us about your event.
- You get a menu and an itemised quote.
- We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
- On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
- It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.
What you will pay
Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Catering events across E9
From Homerton, Hackney and Cambridge Heath to 0 villages and hamlets, events across E9 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and live paella works in all of them. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access.
Hackney: For a christening or wedding at a church such as Church of St Luke, a paella lunch or reception nearby is an easy way to feed everyone. Thinking of a picnic-style party in Clapton Park? Public parks usually need permission from the council or landowner for cooking, so check first. In Hackney, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
Planners, venues and businesses
For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.
Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll tell you honestly whether live paella will work.
What we need at the venue
We’ll be honest if a space will not work. What matters most:
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
Should I cook it myself?
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Diets, allergies and planning
Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because every paella has its own pan. A few tips:
- Add a dietary question to your invitations
- Confirm allergies by email
- Tell us how many children are coming
- Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
A short rest after cooking helps, and that is when we invite guests up.
Bread, salad and lemon go well alongside.
Why live cooking beats a buffet
A cold buffet is simple but has no theatre, and food can sit out for a while. Paella is cooked in front of your guests and served hot.
What your quote should include
- The deposit and payment dates
- The wet-weather plan
- What the price includes, item by item
- Who provides the crockery

How do you work out quantities?
We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Let us know about any other food. Our guide to portions explains more.
Who clears up?
We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.
Can you cater for children?
Yes, children are easy to cater for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.
How does live paella catering work?
We set up a cooking area at your venue, cook the paella from scratch in large pans while your guests watch, and serve it straight from the pan.
Is the paella cooked on site?
Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.
