Questions from Hackney
What about parking in Hackney?
London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We will work around it.
Could we have live paella in Clapton Park?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.
Do you cover Hackney?
Yes, we do. We cook at events in Hackney and across Greater London. Tell us your date and we will check availability.
What paperwork do you provide?
Send your requirements and we’ll include them with our application.
Should we have more than one paella?
Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.
How long do you need on site?
We get there in good time to set up. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.
Can you cook indoors?
Normally we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.
Do you do vegan paella?
Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans.
For event organisers in Hackney
Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.
Organising a club, school or community event in Hackney? Paella is quick to serve to a crowd and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.
What affects the price in Hackney
There are no hidden charges: the price is based on:
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- Distance and access to the venue
- How many guests are eating
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Everything is confirmed in writing.
Getting an accurate quote
You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:
- A picture of where we’d cook
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- Roughly how many adults and children
- Your date and when you want to eat
A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. When you are ready, use our quote form.
Live paella or other catering?
Burger stalls are common. A paella pan stands out in a food line-up. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

How it works
Service is quick: we serve straight from the pan, so large groups are fed quickly. When service is finished, we pack down. For an evening event in Hackney, sunset is about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June; after dark, we need a lit pitch.
- Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
- We reply with our menu, prices for visitors and requirements.
- Paperwork goes over in good time.
- On the day, the pans are on before the busiest hours.
- At close, we pack down and tidy up.
Before we arrive
- Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
- Tell us when you want to eat
- Check the venue allows live cooking

Should I cook it myself?
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.
