FAQs for Little Chelsea

Can you cook in Burton’s Court?

Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Andrew?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

What does paella party catering cost?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. Each is cooked separately, with its own stock and utensils.

How long do you need on site?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.

Can you cater at a hired venue?

Normally, if there’s outdoor space to cook. Ask the venue about live cooking.

When should I book?

Early is best, but ask even if it’s soon. We will check availability right away.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

On request. Crockery or disposables are available.

How our paella party catering works in Little Chelsea

A paella party takes the cooking off your hands without turning the day into a formal dinner. We set up in the garden or venue and cook as your guests chat. Whether it is engagement and anniversary parties and big family gatherings, we can cook tapas, chicken and chorizo paella and vegetable paella and more.

In Little Chelsea, a back-garden party is the usual choice, even if the garden is small. A level spot away from fences and trees, plus parking nearby, is all we need. Send a picture of the garden. Everything is cooked from scratch at your party, never made in advance and reheated, and served the moment it’s ready.

What paella party catering costs

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • How many staff you need
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Details that help

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Where the event is
  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of the space, if you can

Every quote is put together for your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Put out bins for general waste and recycling
  • Collect dietary needs with your invites
  • Give the neighbours a heads-up

We’re set up before guests arrive, so the cooking is under way as people arrive.

Churros and chocolate go down well with all ages.

Space, weather and the venue

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We need:

  • A photo of the garden helps us check the space
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking

As a London location, Little Chelsea is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

What we offer

  • Tapas
  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Churros

What’s in the pans

Churros

Churros are a treat for all ages.

Chicken & chorizo paella

Chicken and chorizo is a crowd-pleaser, though it is not traditional in Valencia.

Should I cook it myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

How it works

Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That’s how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell usually draws people over. For a late-May party in Little Chelsea, sunset is around 8:50pm; at midsummer it is about 9:20pm. If the party runs past dark, we’ll need light where we cook and serve.

  1. Send us the date, the address, numbers and diets.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up our cooking area and start cooking.
  4. The paella cooks while your guests chat, with any tapas served first.
  5. It is served from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

Preparing for the day

  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely

How to get a price

Send us the date, your venue or SW10 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.
