Questions from Wimbledon

We are having a ceremony at St. Mark's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which station should guests use for Wimbledon?

Wimbledon station, in Wimbledon itself.

Do you offer halal options?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and we’ll cook a separate pan.

Can you set up in a small garden?

Generally, yes, if there is a flat, open spot away from fences and branches. Send a picture and we will check.

How much space do you need?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

When should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

How long do you need on site?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance.

Organising for someone else?

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

How it works

Service is quick: we serve straight from the pan, so even a long queue moves. When service is finished, we pack down. For a late-May party in Wimbledon, sunset is around 8:50pm; at midsummer it is about 9:20pm. If the party runs past dark, we will need light where we cook and serve.

  1. It starts with your date, address, numbers and any diets.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a quote.
  3. On the day we arrive, set up our cooking area and start cooking.
  4. The paella cooks while your guests chat, with any tapas served first.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan, then pack down.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook

What affects the price in Wimbledon

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • The number of people
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many staff you need
  • Travel, parking and access

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before you book.

Getting an accurate quote

To speed things up, tell us:

  • The address or venue name
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The courses you’d like
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: give us the basics about your party, and we’ll make suggestions. Start when you are ready: use our quote form.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Unlike a barbecue, paella is ready at once, so nobody waits for the next batch. And there is no host stuck at the grill. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

Why Wimbledon hosts choose us

  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu

See How we price Or The cost guide.

Planning the cooking area

If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you, and help find another spot. What matters most:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site

As a London location, Wimbledon is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

Should I cook it myself?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
