Brixton is about 1 mile south of Stockwell, in Greater London. We cook at parties in gardens, halls and venues around Brixton and the surrounding area. Brixton is one of 764 towns and villages in Greater London where we cook.

Paella party catering for your party in Brixton

Add tapas to start, churros for afters and a jug of sangria, and the whole menu is sorted. We’re frequently asked to cater leaving dos and retirements and christenings and naming days, serving chicken and chorizo paella, churros and seafood paella.

In Brixton, a back-garden party is the usual choice, even if the garden is small. A level spot away from fences and trees, plus parking nearby, is all we need. Send a photo of the garden. We plan the timings around your day, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Diets, allergies and planning

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To get it right:

  • Give the neighbours a heads-up
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Add a diet question to the invitation
  • Plan where rubbish goes

Kids are fascinated by the giant pans, at a safe distance.

We can bring plates, cutlery and staff.

For event organisers in Brixton

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

Space, weather and the venue

Live paella is cooked over gas burners in large pans, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • A picture of the garden helps us check the space
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed

As a London location, Brixton is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Step by step

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. At midsummer, it’s light in Brixton until about 9:20pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. By late September sunset is around 7:05pm, so plan festoon lights for later parties.

  1. First, we check the date and the space.
  2. You choose your paellas and any extras.
  3. We set up the burners and start the sofrito.
  4. The rice goes in and your guests gather round.
  5. It is served hot, and we clear away afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather

Questions from Brixton

Could we have live paella in Max Roach Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.

Which station should guests use for Brixton?

Brixton station, in Brixton itself.

What do you need at the venue?

Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a photo.

What if the weather’s bad?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, including Greater London. Find your area.

Can you cater a party at a village hall?

Yes, if there is a suitable outdoor or ventilated spot to cook. Ask the venue about live cooking.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Paella compared with other options

Cooking yourself saves money but costs you the party. Book us and you are free to enjoy it. The cost per head usually falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.
