Paella party catering in Agar Town, cooked live

We cater parties at homes, village halls with outdoor space, clubs and hired venues in and around Agar Town. For retirement and leaving parties and street parties and neighbourhood get-togethers, we can cook vegetable paella, tapas and churros for your guests.

Most parties in Agar Town are in back gardens, which in London can be compact. We need a level spot clear of fences and trees, and somewhere to park and unload. Send a picture of the garden. We serve straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and service is quick once it is ready.

How the day works

When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That’s what gives paella its separate grains and crispy base. The smell generally draws people over. For a late-May party in Agar Town, sunset is around 8:50pm; at midsummer it is about 9:20pm. If the party runs past dark, we’ll need light where we cook and serve.

  1. You tell us the date, address, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote.
  3. We arrive, set up in your garden or venue and start the sofrito.
  4. Guests gather round as it cooks, nibbling tapas if you’ve booked them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan, then pack down.

Prices and what affects them

There are no hidden charges: the price is based on:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • How many staff you need
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • How many guests are eating

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.

What to tell us

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • What the venue already provides
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • Expected numbers

Send us the date, your venue or NW1W postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and you’ll get a menu idea and a price. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.

Planning the cooking area

We will agree the cooking spot with you before the day. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Send a photo of the garden so we can check
  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo

As a London location, Agar Town is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think.

What we offer

  • Vegetable paella
  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Seafood paella
  • Mixed paella
  • Tapas
  • Churros
  • Paella Valenciana

DIY paella versus live catering

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Working with your venue

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

Agar Town: your questions answered

Can you cook in Lewis Cubitt Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Can you cater a reception after a service at All Saints?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Can you cater at a hired venue?

Normally. We need a suitable spot and the venue’s agreement.

What if the weather’s bad?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

Can you cook in my back garden?

Frequently, yes, if there is a level spot clear of fences and trees. Send a picture and we will check.

Can you bring crockery?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we’ll quote for the rest.
