Planning a party in Rayners Lane

Rayners Lane is about 1 mile west of Harrow, in Greater London. We cater in all 764 towns and villages in Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages. Our events stretch from Rayners Lane to London (about 13 miles away).

After a christening at a church like St. Andrew’s Church, a paella lunch is an easy way to feed family and friends. Historic houses near Rayners Lane include Headstone Manor (1.7 miles north-east) and Northolt Manor (2.1 miles south). Grand settings like these frequently have strict catering rules, so for most parties a garden or hired hall is simpler.

We cover parties in every part of HA2, HA5 and HA4 and the streets around it. Local streets include Kings Road, The Avenue and Torbay Road; a party at home on any of them works well with live paella. Nearby, we also cater parties in Roxbourne (1 mile west), North Harrow (1 mile north-east), Harrow (1 mile east), Eastcote (1 mile north-west) and South Harrow (1 mile south-east). Larger places within reach include London (13 miles south-east), City of Westminster (10 miles south-east), Marylebone (10 miles east), Kensington (9 miles south-east), St Pancras (11 miles east) and Shoreditch (13 miles east).

How our paella party catering works in Rayners Lane

You get to enjoy your own party: no shopping, no cooking, no hours at the stove. The food is our job. We cook chicken and chorizo paella, churros and tapas, and typical bookings are for street and neighbourhood parties and milestone birthdays.

In Rayners Lane, a back-garden party is the usual choice, even if the garden is small. A level spot away from fences and trees, plus parking nearby, is all we need. A picture of the garden helps. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Count adults and children separately
  • Ask guests about diets when you invite them
  • Plan where rubbish goes
  • Give the neighbours a heads-up

At food time, we serve straight from the pan.

Churros with chocolate are a hit with children and adults.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

About the dishes

Vegetable paella

Vegetable paella in its own right, with peppers, beans and artichokes.

Seafood paella

Seafood paella generally gets the photos, and is best served with lemon.

Step by step

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. At midsummer, it is light in Rayners Lane until about 9:20pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:05pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. You tell us the date, address, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a quote.
  3. We arrive, set up in your garden or venue and start the sofrito.
  4. Guests gather round as it cooks, nibbling tapas if you’ve booked them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan, then pack down.

How to prepare

  • Leave space around the cooking area
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

How we price paella party catering

We will give you a clear, itemised quote. The main things that affect it are:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Your choice of paellas

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

What to tell us

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
  • The venue or postcode
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Not sure what you need yet? That’s fine: give us the basics about your party, and we will suggest a menu. Start when you are ready: use our quote form.

Rayners Lane: your questions answered

Which station should guests use for Rayners Lane?

The closest is Northolt Park station, roughly 1.2 miles away.

We are having a ceremony at St. Andrew’s Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you cover Rayners Lane?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Rayners Lane is within our area. For a quote, use our quote form.

Can you cater a party at a village hall?

Normally, if there is outdoor space to cook. Check the venue allows live cooking.

Can you provide dessert?

We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind when you ask for a quote.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.

Do you cater for young children?

Children are welcome. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will plan for them.

Will the neighbours notice?

There’s a cooking smell, but much less smoke than a barbecue, and it is a good smell. A friendly note to the neighbours helps.

Before you choose a spot

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you. The main points are:

  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • A picture of the garden helps us check the space

As a London location, Rayners Lane is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before booking.
