How our wedding paella catering works in The Village

Sharing from big pans suits relaxed weddings, especially with long tables and outdoor venues. It feels generous and celebratory. We are frequently asked to cater blessings and vow renewals and weddings with mixed diets, serving canapé tapas, a paella wedding breakfast and evening paella.

There is something special about a country wedding near The Village, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan access and cover in case of rain. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.

The process

We work to your timings. If speeches run late or the photos take longer, we adjust the cooking so it is still served fresh. For a summer wedding in The Village, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so an evening paella for evening guests is normally served in daylight in high summer. Later in the year, plan lighting: in December it’s dark by about 3:55pm.

  1. Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
  2. We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
  3. We fit our timings around your speeches, photos and venue.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.

Questions from The Village

What’s the nearest station to The Village for guests?

Windsor & Eton Central station, about 3 miles north-east of the centre.

Could we have live paella in Windsor Great Park?

Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

What happens if it rains?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We will make a plan B with you.

What areas do you cover?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including The Village.

What about pudding?

Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.

Do you do starters?

Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Can you liaise with the venue coordinator?

Yes, and it saves you passing messages. Put us in touch and we’ll agree the details.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

DIY paella versus live catering

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Prices and what affects them

Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • The number of people
  • Timings and hours
  • Distance and access to the venue

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We’ll send you a quote.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • The date and rough timings
  • Anything your venue supplies

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you are ready, fill in our quote form.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
