Tapas catering in The Village, cooked live

Hot tapas are finished on site, so they’re served at their best. On the menu are Serrano ham, patatas bravas and gambas al ajillo, and typical bookings are for anniversary parties and tapas starters.

In a rural spot like The Village, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it is ready.

Is live paella right for your event?

Generic canapés all look the same. Tapas bring something different. Larger events usually cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why The Village hosts choose us

The menu, dish by dish

Gambas al ajillo

Prawns sizzled in garlic and olive oil.

Patatas bravas

Fried potatoes with spicy sauce, frequently with alioli.

The process

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. At midsummer, it’s light in The Village until about 9:25pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. By late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We suggest a selection and a quote.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. We serve canapés or table tapas.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

How we price tapas catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Guest numbers
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

What to tell us

These details help us quote quickly:

  • The date and rough timings
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

It is easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send a clear, itemised quote.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Common questions in The Village

What’s the nearest station to The Village for guests?

Windsor & Eton Central station, about 3 miles north-east of the centre.

Could we have live paella in Windsor Great Park?

Only if the landowner, normally the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

How many tapas per person?

We plan quantities around your timings and courses. Give us the details for a suggestion.

Who clears up?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Can you do sangria?

We can add sangria and bar staff.

What happens if it rains?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We will make a plan B with you.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we take the right care.

Can we add tapas or canapés?

Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, served while the paella cooks.

Before you choose a spot

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • Parking near the venue
  • Venue approval for outside catering
  • Space to finish hot dishes

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.
