How our tapas catering works in Wroxall

A good spread mixes hot and cold: Manchego, Serrano ham and olives alongside patatas bravas, croquetas and gambas al ajillo. We are often asked to cater tapas with a paella main course and welcome-drink canapés, with patatas bravas, Serrano ham and croquetas.

Near Wroxall, tapas suit gardens, barns and marquees. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • The length of service
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • The paellas you choose

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

What we need to know

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • The address or venue name
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • What the venue already provides
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: give us the basics about your event, and we will make suggestions. Start when you’re ready: use our quote form.

How it works

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. Evening receptions in Wroxall stay light until about 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so canapés can go round outdoors on a summer evening.

  1. We check your date.
  2. You pick the style.
  3. We set up on arrival.
  4. Hot and cold tapas are served.
  5. Afterwards, we clear up.

Wroxall questions

We are having a ceremony at St John's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which station should guests use for Wroxall?

The closest is Shanklin station, roughly 2.2 miles away.

Do we need staff for canapés?

Staff make canapés work, and we can provide them.

How many different paellas?

Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will suggest a split based on your guests.

How much paella per person?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

Is the paella gluten-free?

We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

Can you provide dessert?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one when you ask for a quote.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and we’ll cook a separate pan.
