Other landmarks nearby include Berkshire Library & Museum of Freemasonry (1.9 miles north-west) and Wokingham Hospital (within half a mile east). The countryside around Wokingham includes Heath Lake and Sonning Hill.
Catering events across RG40
RG40 covers everything from Crowthorne, Arborfield Garrison and Emmbrook to 9 small villages and hamlets, and live paella works in all of them. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access.
Wokingham: For guests coming by train, Wokingham station is in Wokingham itself. If you are celebrating after a service at a church like Church of St Paul, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well. Around midsummer it stays light in Wokingham until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
Live paella or other catering?
If you want something different from the usual buffet or roast, live paella brings colour, aroma and a touch of Spain to your event in RG40.
Comparing caterers
- Staff numbers and hours
- A clear list of what’s included
- Plates, cutlery and napkins, or disposables
- The venue requirements
For planners, venues and organisers
For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.
Who books paella catering?
Paella is one of the few dishes that handles mixed diets easily, because each version is cooked in its own pan. Nobody gets a token ‘special meal’.
If you’re planning any of these, we can help:
- Naming days and family parties
- Community events and fairs
- Retirement and leaving parties
- Office lunches and staff parties
What affects the price in RG40
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:
- The paellas you choose
- Parking and unloading
- How many guests are eating
- How many staff you need
Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.
What to tell us
To speed things up, tell us:
- Expected numbers
- The date and rough timings
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
It is easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will send a clear, itemised quote.
About the dishes
Paella Valenciana
Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, rather than seafood. It is frequently the most popular pan at an event.
Mixed paella
Chicken and seafood together, for guests who want a bit of everything.
RG40 questions
Can you cater for children?
Children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.
Can the paella be cooked in a hall?
Mostly outside or under an open cover, since the burners are gas. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.
Do you cook it at the event?
Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.
Do you do vegan paella?
Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
Can you do sangria?
Sangria can be added, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.
- Cooked live in giant pans at your event
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
- Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
- Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
