Paella catering for Great Hollands events

Paella catering in Great Hollands, made fresh on the day

Paella has always been food for a crowd: cooked outdoors in a wide, shallow pan and shared. That is what we bring to events in Great Hollands. For summer garden parties and anniversaries and engagement parties, we can cook mixed paella, seafood paella and black rice.

Around Great Hollands, events are often in gardens, local halls or nearby venues. If the road in is narrow, tell us so we can plan the van. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, with each paella cooked in its own pan and clearly labelled.

FAQs for Great Hollands

What’s the nearest station to Great Hollands for guests?

Bracknell station, about 1.3 miles north-east of the centre.

Is Great Hollands close to London?

Roughly 30 miles from the centre of London, and we cover it as standard.

How soon do we need to book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.

Which paellas do you recommend?

It depends on your guests. A chicken or mixed paella is typically the most popular, alongside seafood and vegetable or vegan pans.

Do you take everything away?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

How does live paella catering work?

We arrive with pans, burners and ingredients, cook in front of your guests, and serve when you’re ready to eat.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan for them.

Should I cook it myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Dishes our guests love

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It makes a dramatic second seafood pan.

Seafood paella

The secret is a well-made seafood stock. The shellfish is added late so it stays tender.

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

What paella catering costs

We’ll give you a clear, itemised quote. What affects it most:

  • How many guests are eating
  • Your choice of paellas
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before you book.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Which courses you have in mind
  • The venue or postcode
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. To send your details, fill in our quote form.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

A cold buffet is simple but has no theatre, and the food sits out. Paella is cooked live and served hot. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Why book with us

  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
  • Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available
  • A clear, itemised quote
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests

Read Our pricing And Our guide to catering costs.

What we need at the venue

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot
  • Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.

What happens on the day

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you can enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. Around midsummer it stays light in Great Hollands until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
