Paella catering in Finchampstead, cooked live

One cooking area feeds plenty of people, there’s very little waste, and the food is served hot. That is why it works for so many events. For summer garden parties and festivals, fairs and school events, we’ll put together a menu of vegetable paella, seafood paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

Somewhere as small as Finchampstead, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. Your quote spells out exactly what’s included: menu, staff, crockery and anything else you choose, with no surprises on the day.

For planners, venues and organisers

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

Why choose live paella in Finchampstead?

Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, which suits weddings and parties where everyone eats together. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

FAQs for Finchampstead

Do you come out to small places like Finchampstead?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Can you cook in Shepperlands Farm Nature Reserve?

Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Do we need to provide equipment?

We bring all the cooking equipment. Tell us what the venue provides, such as tables or crockery.

Will there be enough food?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Let us know about any other food. See how much paella per person.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

Do you offer halal options?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and we’ll cook a separate pan.

Is live paella good for a large crowd?

Very much so. We plan the number of pans and serving points around your numbers.

Do you cater for young children?

Of course. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Include children in your numbers.

What happens on the day

Here’s how the day usually runs: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and we serve straight from the pan at the agreed time. Around midsummer it stays light in Finchampstead until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Before we arrive

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

What affects the price in Finchampstead

Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Guest numbers

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Dishes our guests love

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, for guests who want a bit of everything.

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The traditional pan has chicken, flat green beans and butter beans.

Catering for every guest

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Make sure most guests can sit to eat
  • Ensure each pan is labelled
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Tell us how many children are coming

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Tapas or canapés make a good start as the rice cooks.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
