Paella catering for your event in Wokingham
Paella has always been food for a crowd: cooked outdoors in a wide, shallow pan and shared. That’s what we bring to events in Wokingham. Whether it’s family celebrations and christenings and retirement and leaving parties, we can cook vegan paella, chicken and chorizo paella and black rice.
Events in Wokingham range from garden parties to office lunches. Town-centre venues can have tight access, so tell us about loading. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.
What paella catering costs
The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:
- How many guests are eating
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
- Whether you need crockery
- Timings and hours
Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.
Details that help
For a quote, it helps to have:
- The date and time of the event
- What the venue already provides
- A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, use our quote form.
Before you choose a spot
We will be honest if a space will not work, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
- Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
- Level ground for the pans and burners
If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.
What we offer
- Black rice (arroz negro)
- Seafood paella
- Paella Valenciana
- Vegan paella
- Vegetable paella
- Chicken & chorizo paella
- Mixed paella
Should I cook it myself?
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.
Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.
Is live paella right for your event?
Cold buffets are easy but forgettable, and food can sit out for a while. Paella is cooked in front of your guests and served hot. Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Dietary needs and planning tips
Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:
- Let us know about other food at the event
- Put allergy details in writing
- Ensure most guests can sit to eat
- Tell us how many children are coming
Paella is best eaten as soon as it’s ready, so we serve when guests are ready.
Tapas or canapés make a good start while the paella cooks.

Questions from Wokingham
Is Wokingham close to London?
About 33 miles from central London.
Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Paul?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.
Do you cater for young children?
Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.
Can you cook in the rain?
Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We’ll talk it through before the day.
Is paella enough as a main?
It’s a full meal on its own. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.
Is halal food available?
Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and we will cook a separate pan.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it is soon.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Of course. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.
How the day works
The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Evenings in Wokingham stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.
- Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
- We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
- A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
- On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
- Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.
