Paella catering near Ryde
How our paella catering works in Ryde
Paella has always been food for a crowd: cooked outdoors in a wide, shallow pan and shared. That’s exactly what we bring to your event in Ryde. For wedding breakfasts and evening food and staff parties and work lunches, we’ll put together a menu of mixed paella, vegetable paella and vegan paella and more.
Gardens in Ryde range from small patios to big lawns, and most can work for live paella. A gazebo over the cooking spot covers you for rain. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

For planners, venues and organisers
For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.
If you are booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will explain how it works. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.
Diets, allergies and planning
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:
- Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
- Let us know about other food at the event
- Make sure each pan is labelled
- Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
Let the paella rest for a few minutes before serving, and that is when we invite guests up.
Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal.
Ryde questions
What’s the nearest station to Ryde for guests?
Ryde has its own station: Ryde St Johns Road station.
What about events near the coast?
Yes, as long as we can shelter from the wind. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.
How far ahead should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.
Can you serve tapas as well?
Yes. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.
How many different paellas?
Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll help you decide the split.
What does paella catering cost?
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.
Do you provide drinks?
We can make sangria, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.
What is live paella catering?
We set up a cooking area at your venue, cook the paella from scratch in large pans while your guests watch, and serve it straight from the pan.
Paella compared with other options
Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is ready all at once, so everyone eats together. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.

How the day works
We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, which we agree with you beforehand. Evenings in Ryde stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.
- Contact us with the basics: when, where and how many.
- We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
- We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
- Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.
Preparing for the day
- Let us know the timings for the day
- Give us your final numbers and diets
- Leave space around the cooking area

Planning help
Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.
The menu, dish by dish
Mixed paella
Paella mixta combines meat and seafood in one pan.
Vegetable and vegan paella
A vegetable paella is not an afterthought: peppers, artichokes and beans with saffron, cooked in its own pan.
How we price paella catering
Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:
- How many guests are eating
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
- How many staff you need
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.
Getting an accurate quote
When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:
- Which courses you have in mind
- Diets and allergies you know about
- The date and time of the event
- The venue or postcode
The quickest way to a quote is to use our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest paellas and extras to suit.
Planning the cooking area
Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but there are a few things to check:
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Somewhere close to park and unload
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
Ryde is a more remote spot, so tell us early and we’ll plan the journey.
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.
