Choosing a paella caterer

Wedding paella catering for your wedding in North Kensington

Saffron and garlic in the air gets guests excited about the meal. We are frequently asked to cater farm and barn venues and weddings with a Spanish theme, with evening paella, canapé tapas and table tapas.

In North Kensington, getting guests from ceremony to reception is part of the plan. The paella can be cooking while everyone makes their way over, so it is ready when they arrive. We plan the timings around your day, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Let us know about meals for your band or photographer
  • Send us the running order and speech times
  • Decide whether guests queue at the pans or are served at the tables
  • Enquire early for peak dates

We normally set up where guests can watch, and it makes a great photo.

Crockery, cutlery and waiting staff are available.

What’s in the pans

Evening paella

Paella makes great evening food, especially after a few hours on the dance floor.

Desserts

Churros with chocolate, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.

How it works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. In North Kensington, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is usually served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it is dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. We start with your date, venue, numbers and ideas.
  2. We plan a menu with you, course by course, and confirm a quote.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue, including speeches and photos.
  4. On the day, we set up, cook in front of your guests and serve each course.
  5. We pack down our cooking area, with staff staying as long as agreed.

Getting ready for the day

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Choose a level spot for the cooking area

Your questions about wedding paella catering in North Kensington

What’s the nearest station to North Kensington for guests?

Kensal Green station, about 0.5 miles north of the centre.

Can you cook in Little Wormwood Scrubs?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Who clears up?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

When do you arrive?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance.

How do you work out quantities?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Let us know about any other food. Our guide to portions explains more.

What about supplier meals?

Of course. Add your suppliers to the final numbers and we’ll plan for them.

Do you cover North Kensington?

We do. We cook at events in North Kensington and across Greater London. Tell us your date and we will check availability.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

If you’re weighing up paella against a traditional menu, think about your venue, your guests’ diets and the feel of the day. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

DIY paella versus live catering

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

What affects the price in North Kensington

There’s nothing hidden: the quote reflects:

  • The number of people
  • The length of service
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Details that help

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Expected numbers
  • Where the event is
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • A picture of the cooking space, if it is a garden or field

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

For planners, venues and organisers

Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can hold the date.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
