About paella catering in W10
Paella was made for feeding a crowd: cooked in the open in a big, shallow pan and shared straight from it. That is what we bring to events in W10. On the menu are paella Valenciana, mixed paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and typical bookings are for family celebrations and christenings and anniversaries and engagement parties.
When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule.
- First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
- The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
- We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.
What you’ll pay
Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Paella catering in W10: local guide
From Kilburn, Notting Dale and Kensal Town to 0 villages and hamlets, events across W10 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and live paella suits every kind of setting. Town events mean planning parking; village events mean planning access.
Kensal Town: If you’re organising a summer fair for a school like St Thomas' CofE Primary School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. Historic houses near Kensal Town include Kensington Palace (1.6 miles south-east) and Sambourne House (1.7 miles south). If your event is at a historic house or estate, check its rules on caterers and cooking early. In Kensal Town, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
The menu, dish by dish
Black rice
Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, and is normally served with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.
Mixed paella
Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together, and it’s frequently the first pan to empty.
Planning for every diet
Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:
- Request clear labels at the serving table
- Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
- Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
- Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
Once everyone is fed, we clear our cooking area.
Bread, salad and lemon go well alongside and suit guests who aren’t big rice eaters.
Organising for someone else?
Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll tell you honestly whether live paella will work.
For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so everyone eats promptly. Tell us how long you have for food.
Paella compared with other options
Next to a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, thanks to separate pans. Service from the pan keeps queues moving.
Questions to ask before booking
- Any travel, parking or access charges
- When final numbers are due
- Allergen information for each dish
- Space, access and power needs
Before you choose a spot
We’ll be honest if a space won’t work, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:
- Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
- The venue’s permission for live cooking
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
W10 questions
Do you cater for coeliacs?
A gluten-free pan is no problem. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.
What do you need at the venue?
Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.
What is live paella catering?
We set up a cooking area at your venue, cook the paella from scratch in large pans while your guests watch, and serve it straight from the pan.
Does paella work for big events?
Very much so. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.
Do you cook it at the event?
Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook it there and then, then serve straight from the pan.
Do you do vegan paella?
Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
How soon do we need to book?
The sooner the better. Popular dates book up first, so it pays to ask early.
