About paella catering in W12
We cook every paella from scratch on the day, starting with a slow sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. We’re frequently asked to cater family celebrations and christenings and weddings and evening receptions, serving seafood paella, black rice and mixed paella.
We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch as the paella takes shape.
- It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
- Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
- We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.

Paella catering in W12: local guide
From Acton, Hammersmith and Bedford Park to 0 villages and hamlets, events across W12 range from town-centre venues to gardens and fields, and live paella suits every kind of setting. In towns, plan parking and access; in villages, tell us about lanes and ground.
Shepherd's Bush: If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Addison Primary School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser. For guests coming by train, Shepherd's Bush has its own station, Shepherds Bush station. In Shepherd's Bush, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
Working with your venue
Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we’ll let you know if live paella is a good fit.
If you’re booking for a business, tell us how you’d like to handle the booking and payment, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.
The menu, dish by dish
Seafood paella
Seafood paella starts with a good fish and shellfish stock. The shellfish is added late so it stays tender.
Paella Valenciana
Valencians take their paella seriously. The traditional pan has chicken, flat green beans and butter beans, and it’s a crowd-pleaser.
Before you choose a spot
No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours when you get in touch. In general, we need:
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
- Access for unloading near the cooking spot
What paella catering costs
Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- Plates, cutlery and glassware
- The paellas you choose
- The number of people
Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.
Getting an accurate quote
You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:
- The date and rough timings
- Expected numbers
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
- Any dietary needs and allergies
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. For a quote, fill in our quote form.
Dietary needs and planning tips
Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:
- Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
- Let us know about other food at the event
- Give us separate numbers for children
- Request clear labels at the serving table
Once the rice is in, it needs about 20 minutes, so we start it at the right moment for your event. If timings shift, we adapt.
Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or serve your own cake.
FAQs for W12
Is the paella cooked on site?
It is. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Yes, children are easy to cater for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.
Is halal food available?
Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and we’ll cook a separate pan.
Can you cook in the rain?
We cook under cover, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We will agree a wet-weather plan with you.
Is live paella good for a large crowd?
Very much so. We plan the number of pans and serving points around your numbers.
How much space do you need?
Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a picture.
Which paellas suit our guests?
It depends on your guests. Chicken and mixed paellas tend to go first, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.
