Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Connaught Village
Timing is everything with paella: once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and it is best served straight away. We plan it around your speeches and photos. Popular choices include canapé tapas, evening paella and a paella wedding breakfast, and we are regularly asked to cater evening wedding food and destination-style celebrations at home.
In Connaught Village, getting guests from ceremony to reception is part of the plan. The paella can be cooking while everyone makes their way over, ready to serve on arrival. We serve straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and service is quick once it is ready.

DIY paella versus live catering
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.
How it works
When the rice goes in, it is left alone. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell normally draws people over. At midsummer, sunset in Connaught Village is about 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

What affects the price in Connaught Village
These are the factors that matter most:
- The number of people
- Timings and hours
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
- The paellas you choose
Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We’ll send you a quote.
What to tell us
We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:
- The courses you’d like
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
- Diets and allergies you know about
- What the venue already provides
Still deciding on the menu? No problem: give us the basics about your wedding, and we will make suggestions. Start when you’re ready: send us your details through our quote form.
Planning the cooking area
No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:
- Access for unloading near the cooking spot
- A cooking spot outside the marquee, not inside it
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
Connaught Village is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking can be tight: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.
If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

Organising for someone else?
Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.
Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.
Live paella or other catering?
A buffet can leave food sitting out. Paella is served hot from the pan. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.
