Why live cooking beats a buffet
Compared with formal catering, live paella is relaxed and sociable, but with canapés, table tapas and good crockery, it still feels special. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, sides, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

Bray questions
Is Bray too small for live paella?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.
How far is Bray from London?
Roughly 26 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
Do you cater for young children?
Yes. Children frequently love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.
What areas do you cover?
London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.
What if the weather’s bad?
A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We’ll talk it through before the day.
Do you do desserts?
We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one when you ask for a quote.
Is the paella cooked on site?
Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook it there and then, serving it hot from the pan.
How much space do you need?
Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a photo if you’re not sure.
How it works
Serving is fast: we serve straight from the pan, so large groups are fed quickly. When service is finished, we pack down. In Bray, midsummer sunset is about 9:25pm, and by late September it is nearer 7:05pm, which means evening paella is typically served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.
- Share your date, venue, numbers and plans for the day.
- We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
- We fit our timings around your speeches, photos and venue.
- On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
- Afterwards we clear our area; any staff you’ve booked stay as planned.
How to prepare
- Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
- Choose a level spot for the cooking area
- Plan cover in case of rain

DIY paella versus live catering
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.
For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

What affects the price in Bray
Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
- The length of service
- Waiting and bar staff
- How many courses
The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, plus any staff, crockery and travel. We quote for each event individually.
