How our wedding paella catering works in Barnsbury
Paella suits relaxed, sociable weddings, especially with long tables and outdoor venues. It feels generous without being stuffy. Typical bookings include vow renewals and civil ceremonies and rustic barn weddings, with canapé tapas, table tapas and evening paella.
For a wedding in Barnsbury, think about how guests travel between ceremony and reception. Paella can be cooking while they’re on the move, so it is ready when they arrive. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Working with your venue
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.
Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.
Dietary needs and planning tips
Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:
- Decide whether guests queue at the pans or are served at the tables
- Share your running order, including speeches
- Enquire early for peak dates
- Include any suppliers you are feeding
We keep in touch with your venue coordinator or toastmaster on the day, so you do not have to.
Sangria and bar staff can be added.
DIY paella versus live catering
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

Live paella or other catering?
Food trucks serve one order at a time, which can mean long queues at a wedding. Paella pans serve many guests quickly. Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Table tapas
A tapas starter gets tables talking before the paella arrives.

Prices and what affects them
The price comes down to a few factors:
- How many guests are eating
- How many courses
- Whether you need crockery
- The length of service
Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.
Details that help
You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:
- The address or venue name
- The date and time of the event
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
- Expected numbers
Getting a quote is simple: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll send a clear, itemised quote.
FAQs for Barnsbury
Can you cook in Bingfield Park?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.
Can you cater a reception after a service at Former Church of St Clement?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.
Is paella smart enough for a wedding?
With the right presentation, it feels special: canapés, tapas, crockery and table service.
Is it really cooked live?
It is. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, then serve straight from the pan.
How long do you need on site?
We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.
What if the timings change?
Tell us and we will adjust. We keep in touch with your venue on the day and time the rice so it’s served at its best.
Do you do desserts?
Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.
Can we have a tasting?
Mention a tasting in your enquiry, and we will explain how it works.
The process
From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your wedding. Any tapas or canapés are served first while the paella cooks. In Barnsbury, midsummer sunset is about 9:20pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:05pm, which means evening paella is generally served in daylight in June and July. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.
- Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
- Together we plan each course.
- Timings are agreed with your venue.
- On the day, we cook and serve each course.
- We clear our area; staff stay as booked.
Before we arrive
- Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
- Ensure we can park close by to unload
- Tell us when you want to eat
