Tapas catering for Staple events

How our tapas catering works in Staple

Tapas are made for sharing and talking over. Canapés go round while guests mingle, or table tapas go out to share. Popular choices include gambas al ajillo, padrón peppers and albóndigas, and we’re often booked for tapas with a paella main course and evening grazing.

For a country party near Staple, tapas and sangria set the mood. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Organising for someone else?

Organising a club, school or community event in Staple? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

Why choose live paella in Staple?

If you want food that encourages guests to mingle, tapas work brilliantly. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Space, weather and the venue

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • Room on tables for sharing dishes
  • Space to finish hot dishes
  • A spot for our serving station

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

The process

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you’re free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first while the paella cooks. At midsummer, it’s light in Staple until about 9:15pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. By late September it is dark around 7:00pm, and in December by about 3:50pm.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You pick the style.
  3. We arrive and set up our station.
  4. We serve the spread.
  5. Afterwards, we clear up.

Before we arrive

  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Share the running order, including any speeches

Your questions about tapas catering in Staple

Is Staple close to London?

About 60 miles from central London.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St James?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

What if the weather’s bad?

We cook under cover, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We’ll agree a wet-weather plan with you.

How much space do you need?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Typically we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. We will recommend a mix based on diets.

Can we add drinks?

Yes. Sangria can be added, and bar staff if you are providing the drinks.

What affects the price in Staple

Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:

  • The length of service
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Guest numbers

Larger events generally cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Anything your venue supplies
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Expected numbers
  • Where the event is

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send us your details through our quote form.
