About our paella party catering in Staple
Nothing gets a party going like the smell of paella cooking. Guests gather round, glass in hand, to watch. Whether it’s summer garden parties and retirement and leaving parties, we can cook tapas, vegetable paella and churros.
In a small place like Staple, a party in the garden or a nearby field is often the plan. Tell us about lanes and parking, and we will handle the rest. You will know exactly what’s included before you book: the menu, the staff and any extras, with no surprises on the day.
The process
From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your party. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. Sunset in Staple is about 8:45pm in late May and 9:15pm in late June. If the party runs past dark, we’ll need light where we cook and serve.
- You tell us the date, address, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
- You get a menu suggestion and a clear price.
- On the day we arrive, set up our cooking area and start cooking.
- The paella cooks while your guests chat, with any tapas served first.
- We serve it hot from the pan, then pack down.

Prices and what affects them
The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
- Distance and access to the venue
- How many staff you need
- The length of service
Live paella pricing depends on the event. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.
Getting an accurate quote
When you contact us, it helps to tell us:
- The address or venue name
- Your date and when you want to eat
- Roughly how many adults and children
- A picture of where we’d cook
Getting a quote is simple: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send a clear, itemised quote and a suggested menu.

Dietary needs and planning tips
Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:
- Have cover ready for a shower
- Warn the neighbours
- Put out bins for general waste and recycling
- Make sure most people can sit to eat
Kids are fascinated by the huge pans, from a safe distance.
Tapas to start keep guests happy.
Before you choose a spot
The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We need:
- Somewhere close to park and unload
- A quick photo of the spot helps us plan
- Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly.

Is live paella right for your party?
Unlike a barbecue, paella is ready at once, so everyone eats together. And there’s no host stuck at the grill. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed before you book.
What you get with us
- Drinks service on request
- Real theatre, not just catering
- Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
- Plates, cutlery and waiting staff available

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
Staple: your questions answered
We’re having a ceremony at Church of St James: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.
Is Staple too small for live paella?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.
Will there be enough food?
We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.
Do you cook inside?
Normally we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.
What does paella party catering cost?
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Tell us your date and numbers and we’ll reply with a price.
Where do you cater?
We cater across London and the South East, including Kent. Find your area.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.
Can you do sangria?
Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.
- Cooked live in giant pans at your event
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
- Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
- Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
