Tapas for events in Shoreditch

Shoreditch is about 2 miles north of London, in Greater London. Give us the address of your event in Shoreditch, and we will plan the journey and set-up before the day. We cater in all 764 towns and villages in Greater London.

Canapé tapas suit the drinks after a ceremony at a church like St Leonard's Church. A picnic in Artillery Ground? Check the park’s rules first; a garden or hired venue is frequently easier for catering.

Wherever your event is in E1, E2 and N1, we can bring tapas catering to you, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Your event could be at a home on New Road, Moor Lane and City Road or the roads around them. Being close to the A1 and A10, Shoreditch is easy for us to reach for your event. If your venue is just outside Shoreditch, we also cover Haggerston (1 mile north), Hoxton (1 mile north-west), St Luke's (1 mile west), Spitalfields (1 mile south) and Finsbury (1 mile west). We also cook in nearby towns such as City of Westminster (3 miles west), Marylebone (3 miles west), Kensington (6 miles west), Walthamstow (5 miles north-east), Hampstead (5 miles north-west) and Ruislip (15 miles west). As one of the bigger places in Greater London, Shoreditch has plenty of venues and gardens for events.

Paella compared with other options

For food that gets people mingling, tapas work brilliantly. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

Tortilla española

Croquetas

Crisp outside, creamy inside.

DIY paella versus live catering

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and do not stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Diets, allergies and planning

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Separate seafood dishes from the rest
  • Decide whether tapas are a starter, canapés or the whole meal
  • Collect dietary needs
  • Book staff to carry canapés round

Canapés circulate with drinks as guests arrive.

Add a live paella main.

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • How many guests are eating

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before booking.

What we need to know

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The address or venue name
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Send us the date, your venue or E1 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and you’ll get a menu idea and a price. Just send us your details through our quote form.

Step by step

Watching it cook is half the fun. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook. Evening receptions in Shoreditch stay light until about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, so canapés can go round outdoors on a summer evening.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We suggest a selection and a quote.
  3. We set up and finish hot tapas on site.
  4. We serve canapés or table tapas.
  5. We pack down when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

Shoreditch questions

We are having a ceremony at St Leonard's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cook in Artillery Ground?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Can you serve drinks?

We can make sangria, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on timing and courses. Give us the details for a suggestion.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, Greater London included. See all areas.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates book up first, so contact us early.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, on request. Let us know your halal numbers, and it is cooked separately.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces often work.
