Live tapas catering in Kingsfold

Tapas catering for your event in Kingsfold

Plenty of tapas are vegetarian, such as tortilla, bravas and padrón peppers, and several can be made gluten-free. Popular choices include tortilla española, padrón peppers and gambas al ajillo, and typical bookings are for birthday drinks and cocktail parties.

In a rural spot like Kingsfold, tapas can be served in a garden, barn or marquee. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so the food is hot, fresh and part of the occasion.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Sandwich buffets are forgettable. Tapas feel special. Larger events typically cost less per head, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Kingsfold: your questions answered

What’s the nearest station to Kingsfold for guests?

The closest is Warnham station, roughly 1.6 miles away.

Can you cook at venues in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will follow the site rules.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and they’re popular with everyone. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

What do you need at the venue?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

Can you do sangria?

We can make sangria, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes, always. We cook from scratch in large pans at your venue, in front of your guests.

How do you work out quantities?

That depends on their role in the meal. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest quantities.

How soon do we need to book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

What happens on the day

Once the rice is in, we do not stir it. That’s how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell usually draws people over. Evening receptions in Kingsfold stay light until about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June, which suits an outdoor reception.

  1. Send us the date, venue, numbers and serving style.
  2. You get a suggested selection and a price.
  3. We arrive, set up and finish hot dishes on site.
  4. We serve canapés with drinks or set table tapas down to share.
  5. We pack down when service ends.

What affects the price in Kingsfold

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Timings and hours
  • How many guests are eating
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • How many courses

Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.
