Paella catering in Kingsfold

Paella catering in Kingsfold, made fresh on the day

There’s something generous about paella: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It turns a meal into an occasion. On the menu are chicken and chorizo paella, vegan paella and paella Valenciana, and we are regularly asked to cater milestone birthday parties and retirement and leaving parties.

For a rural spot like Kingsfold, the countryside is part of the appeal: a giant pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, not reheated, and served as soon as it’s ready.

Catering for every guest

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice

Let the paella rest for a few minutes before serving, and that’s when we invite guests up.

We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.

What affects the price in Kingsfold

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • Timings and hours
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Expected numbers
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The date and time of the event

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, use our quote form.

How the day works

We get there well before serving, unload, set up the burners and prepare the stock. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. Evenings in Kingsfold stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; once it’s dark, we need light to cook and serve by.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. We serve, then leave our area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Planning help

DIY paella versus live catering

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Dishes our guests love

Vegetable and vegan paella

A vegetable paella isn’t an afterthought: artichokes, beans, peppers and saffron.

Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, not seafood. It is often the most popular pan at an event.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, so everyone can eat at the same time. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

What you get with us

  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • Fast service from the pan
  • We cover Kingsfold and the whole of West Sussex
