How paella catering works in RH12
There’s something generous about paella: giant pans, saffron colour and a toasted crust that everyone fights over. It turns a meal into an occasion. Popular choices include paella Valenciana, chicken and chorizo paella and vegan paella, and we’re often booked for festivals, fairs and school events and engagement and anniversary parties.
When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule.
- Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
- We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
- A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
- We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
- Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.
Prices in RH12
Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Live paella across RH12: what to know
There are 3 towns and 13 villages and hamlets in RH12, so whether your event is in Crawley, Horsham and Bewbush or a quiet village, the approach is the same: a level, ventilated spot and a clear plan.
Horsham: For guests coming by train, Horsham station is in Horsham itself. Parks such as Warnham Park generally need the owner’s permission for cooking, so ask before you plan a party there. In Horsham, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
Prices and what affects them
The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
- The number of people
- How long we’re needed on site
- Waiting and bar staff
Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, plus any staff, crockery and travel. Every event gets its own quote.
What we need to know
You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:
- A picture of the space, if you can
- Expected numbers
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
The quickest way to a quote is to send us your details through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest paellas and extras to suit.
Planning for every diet
Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:
- Give us separate numbers for children
- Ensure most guests can sit to eat
- Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
- Put allergy details in writing
A short rest after cooking helps, which is when we typically call guests over.
Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further.
Should I cook it myself?
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.
Working with your venue
For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can hold the date.
For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.
Before you choose a spot
Every venue is different, so we ask about the space before we confirm. In general, we need:
- Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
- A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
Your questions about paella catering in RH12
How much space do you need?
Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a photo if you are not sure.
Do you take everything away?
We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.
Can you supply plates?
Yes, if you need them. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.
Is halal food available?
Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.
What seafood can we have?
We will talk through seafood options when we plan your menu.
Which paella is most popular?
Most events choose two or three: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. See the sample menu.
What if the weather’s bad?
We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We plan for rain with you in advance.
