Tapas catering in Haylands

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.

Tapas catering for your event in Haylands

We can add sangria and bar staff, for a complete drinks and tapas package. Whether it’s office parties and launches and tapas before paella, we’ll put together a menu of Serrano ham, albóndigas and padrón peppers.

Catering for every guest

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. A few tips:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies
  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate
  • Plan more dishes if tapas are the meal
  • Match tapas with Spanish drinks

Afterwards, we clear away.

Follow tapas with a live paella.

Is live paella right for your event?

Crisps and nibbles fill a gap. Tapas make a proper course. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

  • Venue approval for outside catering

The process

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. A summer drinks reception in Haylands has daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:10pm; winter receptions, dark by 4:00pm, are better indoors.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We suggest a selection and a quote.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. Canapés go round or tapas go to the tables.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to cook
  • Ensure we can park close by to unload
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking

Planning help

Common questions in Haylands

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St. Michael and All Angels: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

What about events near the coast?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

Can you cook in the rain?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We’ll make a plan B with you.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Will there be enough food?

We plan quantities from your guest numbers, timings and other courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

How much tapas do we need?

Quantities depend on timing and courses. Tell us more and we will advise.

What affects the price in Haylands

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • The length of service

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.
