Vegetable and vegan paella
The vegetable pan is a dish in its own right: artichokes, beans, peppers and saffron, cooked in its own pan.
Black rice
Black rice looks dramatic and tastes of the sea.

Yarbridge: your questions answered
Can you cater a reception after a service at St. Mary's Church?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.
Do you come out to small places like Yarbridge?
No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.
Who clears up?
Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.
Can we choose the seafood?
We will suggest seafood to suit your menu and budget. Premium shellfish can be added.
How far ahead should we book?
The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.
Can we add tapas or canapés?
Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, served while the paella cooks.
Should we have more than one paella?
Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will suggest a split based on your guests.
Can you do sangria?
Yes, sangria. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.
Step by step
We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. Around midsummer it stays light in Yarbridge until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
- Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
- We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.
How to prepare
- Name one person we can ask on the day
- Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
- Arrange parking near the cooking spot

Catering for every guest
Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:
- Confirm allergies by email
- Make sure most guests can sit to eat
- Give us separate numbers for children
- Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.
Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.
What else we do in Yarbridge
Working with your venue
Organising a club, school or community event in Yarbridge? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we will suggest a menu.
If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.
Space, weather and the venue
Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We need:
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
- Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
- A safe distance from anything that could catch
For somewhere as remote as Yarbridge, early notice helps us plan the trip.
If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think.

Live paella or other catering?
Cold buffets are easy but forgettable, and food can sit out for a while. Paella is cooked in front of your guests and served hot. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Prices and what affects them
We will give you a clear, itemised quote. The main things that affect it are:
- The length of service
- Your choice of paellas
- How many guests are eating
- Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.
