Festival paella catering in Yarbridge, made fresh on the day

The cooking is part of the show. People stop, watch and come back to eat. On the menu are churros, giant-pan paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and we’re regularly asked to cater music and food festivals and school fairs and fundraisers.

At a fête or field event near Yarbridge, we can bring hot food to a rural site. Ground conditions and access matter, so tell us about them. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and service is quick once it’s ready.

What happens on the day

Watching it cook is half the fun. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring. Evening events in Yarbridge have light until about 9:20pm at midsummer; after that, the pitch needs good lighting.

  1. First, we check the dates.
  2. We agree what we’ll serve and where.
  3. We set up our burners and pans.
  4. Pans are cooking as gates open.
  5. We serve, then pack down.

Yarbridge questions

Can you run a stall at a school fair in Yarbridge?

Yes, with the school’s permission. Send us the date, pitch and expected numbers.

What about events near the coast?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.

Is there a vegan option?

Yes. A vegan paella pan sits alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Can you provide dessert?

We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind in your enquiry.

What paperwork do you provide?

Send your requirements and we’ll include them with our application.

What do you need at the venue?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.

How long do you need on site?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, and we time it to your schedule.

Can you cook halal paella?

Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.

Should I cook it myself?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

What affects the price in Yarbridge

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • The number of people
  • Whether you need crockery
  • Timings and hours
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Live paella or other catering?

For a stall that adds atmosphere, a paella pan delivers. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.

If a space is not suitable, we will tell you, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:

  • Spacing from tents and other structures
  • A level pitch on firm ground
  • Room for our cooking and serving area
