Wedding paella catering in Patcham, made fresh on the day

At a wedding, paella is both the meal and a bit of a show. Guests wander over to watch while the photos are taken, and the meal arrives hot and generous. For informal wedding breakfasts and civil partnerships and vow renewals, we’ll put together a menu of table tapas, a paella wedding breakfast and Spanish desserts and more.

Weddings in a place like Patcham frequently feel personal: a local church, then a marquee in a garden or field. Paella cooked on the lawn suits that perfectly. Let us know about access for the van. We plan the timings around your day, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Paella compared with other options

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen and a large team. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission, and feels more relaxed. Larger events normally cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Questions from Patcham

Can you cook in Withdean Park?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Can you cook near the sea around Patcham?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, while the rice is cooking.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

Do you offer halal options?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and it is cooked separately.

Do you cater for suppliers?

Yes, include them in your numbers. Tell us when they’ll eat.

How much is live paella catering?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually want. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

How we price wedding paella catering

Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:

  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Travel, parking and access
  • How many guests are eating
  • Timings and hours

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

Details that help

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Expected numbers
  • The courses you’d like

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, along with any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, fill in our quote form.

What’s in the pans

Evening paella

A second round of paella for the evening, quick to serve and filling.

Desserts

To finish: churros, crema catalana or your wedding cake.

How it works

A typical event goes like this: we arrive, set up and start cooking, your guests watch the rice cook, and we serve straight from the pan at the agreed time. Golden-hour photos in Patcham at midsummer come around 9:20pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. You tell us your date, venue, guest numbers and how you picture the day.
  2. We build the menu course by course and send a quote.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. We cook live on the day and serve every course on cue.
  5. We clear our cooking area, and staff stay as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking

Space, weather and the venue

If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • Open air or a well-ventilated covered spot
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think.

What we offer

  • Paella wedding breakfast
  • Evening paella

Working with your venue

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Let us know about meals for your band or photographer
  • Book early for summer Saturdays

Guests can queue at the pans, or staff can serve the tables, whichever suits your day.

Sangria and bar staff can be added.
