Wedding paella catering in Kemptown

Wedding paella catering in Kemptown, made fresh on the day

We can cater your whole wedding day or one part of it: canapés, a tapas starter, a paella wedding breakfast, evening food and dessert. For big weddings with every diet and spanish-themed and destination-style weddings, we will put together a menu of table tapas, Spanish desserts and evening paella and more.

For a smaller place like Kemptown, a garden or farm wedding is often the dream. We need level ground and access. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, each in a separate pan and clearly labelled.

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the garden and tell us about access, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.

Is live paella right for your wedding?

If you are weighing up paella against a traditional menu, consider your venue, diets and the style you want. Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

Questions from Kemptown

Can you cook in Queen's Park?

Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Can you cook at venues in the South Downs National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We’ll follow the site rules.

What if photos overrun?

Tell us and we will adjust. We keep in touch with your venue on the day so the paella is served fresh.

How much is live paella catering?

We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a price.

Is the paella cooked on site?

It is. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

Should we have more than one paella?

Usually two or three, so every guest has a choice. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.

Can we try the food first?

Mention a tasting in your enquiry, and we will talk you through it.

What happens if it rains?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We’ll make a plan B with you.

What wedding paella catering costs

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Guest numbers
  • Waiting and bar staff

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Details that help

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • The date and rough timings
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • What the venue already provides
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: give us the basics about your wedding, and we will suggest a menu. Start when you are ready: send us your details through our quote form.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

How it works

When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. In Kemptown, midsummer sunset is about 9:15pm, and by late September it’s nearer 7:05pm, so an evening paella for evening guests is typically served in daylight in high summer. For autumn and winter weddings, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm in December, plan lighting for the cooking area.

  1. You tell us your date, venue, guest numbers and how you picture the day.
  2. Together we plan each course and confirm the price.
  3. Timings are agreed with you and the venue, around speeches and photos.
  4. On the day we set up, cook live and serve each course as planned.
  5. We clear our cooking area, and staff stay as agreed.

How to prepare

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
