Wedding paella catering near Kew

Wedding paella catering for your wedding in Kew

Sharing from big pans suits relaxed weddings, long tables and garden or barn venues. It feels generous without being stuffy. Popular choices include Spanish desserts, canapé tapas and evening paella, and we are regularly asked to cater relaxed sharing-style wedding breakfasts and food for evening guests.

In Kew, getting guests from ceremony to reception is part of the plan. Paella can be cooking while they’re on the move, so it’s ready when they arrive. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and service is quick once it is ready.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Buffets can mean food sitting for a while. Paella goes straight from pan to plate. The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What you get with us

For planners, venues and organisers

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Diets, allergies and planning

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Let us know about meals for your band or photographer
  • Collect dietary needs on the RSVP
  • Check the venue’s rules for outside caterers
  • Tell us when speeches will be

Fresh pans can be cooked for evening guests, normally timed after the first dance.

Sangria and bar staff can be added.

Dishes our guests love

Paella wedding breakfast

A choice of paellas, served at the pans or to the tables.

Desserts

A sweet finish: churros, crema catalana or your wedding cake.

Common questions in Kew

Could we have live paella in Kew Green?

Only if the landowner, typically the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

What about parking in Kew?

It can be, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. We will plan unloading around it.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Can you supply plates?

Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

When do you arrive?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We will agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you so the paella is ready when you want it.

Can you cook indoors?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Most events have us cooking outside or in a doorway or courtyard.

Is the paella gluten-free?

We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

Will there be enough food?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

How the day works

Here’s how the day normally runs: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, your guests watch the rice cook, and we serve straight from the pan at the agreed time. Golden-hour photos in Kew at midsummer come around 9:20pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 7:05pm in late September.

  1. Tell us your date, venue and numbers.
  2. Together we plan each course.
  3. We agree timings with you and your venue.
  4. On the day, we cook and serve each course.
  5. We pack down, and staff stay as agreed.

Before we arrive

  • Give us a contact for the day
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
