About our wedding paella catering in Chale

Sharing from big pans suits relaxed weddings, long tables and garden or barn venues. It feels generous and celebratory. We’re frequently asked to cater vow renewals and civil ceremonies and receptions after an intimate ceremony, serving a paella wedding breakfast, table tapas and evening paella.

Rural weddings around Chale have a magic of their own, and an open-air paella adds to it. Plan access and cover in case of rain. Each paella is cooked from scratch on the day, never made in advance and reheated.

How it works

Service is quick: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. At midsummer, sunset in Chale is about 9:20pm, so we can time the evening paella around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:10pm.

  1. We check availability for your date.
  2. You choose canapés, tapas, paellas and desserts.
  3. We confirm everything with your venue.
  4. The pans cook while guests enjoy the drinks.
  5. We serve and clear our cooking area.

What wedding paella catering costs

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • How many guests are eating
  • How many staff you need
  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • Whether you need crockery

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. We itemise everything in your quote.

What to tell us

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The date and rough timings
  • What the venue already provides
  • Expected numbers

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. To send your details, use our quote form.

Dietary needs and planning tips

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Connect us with your coordinator
  • Pick a serving style

The pans are often set up where guests can see them, and it makes a great photo.

Add sangria, or bar staff to serve your own drinks.

Paella compared with other options

If you are weighing up paella against a traditional menu, think about your venue, your guests’ diets and the feel of the day. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before booking.

Why book with us

  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Catering across the Isle of Wight, including Chale
  • Real theatre, not just catering

Should I cook it myself?

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Chale questions

We are having a ceremony at St Andrew's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

What about events near the coast?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Which areas do you serve?

London and South East England: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Chale.

Do you do vegan paella?

Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

Can you cater the whole day?

Yes. We can do canapés, tapas, the wedding breakfast, evening food and desserts.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can, if you tell us in advance. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

How long does the paella take?

That depends on your menu and numbers. We’ll agree arrival, cooking and serving times with you.

What about pudding?

We do. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana, or you can serve your own cake.

What we need at the venue

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo

For somewhere as remote as Chale, early notice helps us plan the trip.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think.
