Common questions in Taplow

Is Taplow too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Nicolas?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Can you cook indoors?

Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces often work.

When should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, including Windsor and Maidenhead. See all areas.

What about pudding?

Yes, Spanish desserts can be added. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.

How many different paellas?

Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll help you decide the split.

Can you cook in the rain?

We need a covered spot, like a gazebo or open-sided marquee. We will agree a wet-weather plan with you.

What happens on the day

The cooking is part of the entertainment. We start with the sofrito, add the stock and saffron, then spread the rice across the pan and leave it alone to cook. At midsummer, it’s light in Taplow until about 9:25pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:55pm, are better indoors.

  1. First, we check availability.
  2. You pick the style.
  3. We set up on arrival.
  4. We serve the spread.
  5. Afterwards, we clear up.

Getting ready for the day

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Let us know if tapas are a starter or the main event
  • Check diets in advance
  • Ensure dishes are labelled
  • Canapés need staff to serve

Tapas go out to the tables at the start of the meal.

Events we cater in Taplow

Easy to eat with a glass in hand.

If you are planning any of these, we can help:

  • Tapas starters
  • Engagement celebrations
  • Work receptions
  • Tapas before paella

A picnic in Braywick Park? Check the park’s rules first; a garden or hired venue is often easier for catering.

What your quote should include

  • If the price includes VAT
  • How many staff are coming, and for how long
  • Plates, cutlery and napkins, or disposables
  • How dietary needs and allergies are handled

How to compare caterers

How we price tapas catering

There are no hidden charges: the price is based on:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Timings and hours
  • The paellas you choose
  • Waiting and bar staff

The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.
