Tapas catering in Sewardstone, made fresh on the day

Many classic tapas are naturally vegetarian, such as tortilla, bravas and padrón peppers, and some can be gluten-free. On the menu are Manchego with membrillo, tortilla española and padrón peppers, and we are regularly asked to cater canapés with welcome drinks and table tapas as a starter.

Canapé tapas suit smaller London spaces in Sewardstone. Everything is cooked from scratch at your event, never made in advance and reheated, and served as soon as it’s ready.

Live paella or other catering?

Nibbles fill a gap. Tapas are a real course. The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

Why Sewardstone hosts choose us

  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Crockery and waiting staff if you need them
  • Live cooking, not reheated food
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment

Take a look at How we price And What paella catering costs.

What affects the price in Sewardstone

There are no hidden charges: the quote reflects:

  • Plates, cutlery and glassware
  • Waiting and bar staff
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Starters, canapés and desserts

Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

Your questions about tapas catering in Sewardstone

Is parking a problem for events in Sewardstone?

London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We’ll plan unloading around it.

Could we have live paella in Lee Valley Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

When do you arrive?

We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.

Are the tapas fresh?

Yes, hot dishes are finished at the venue.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, including Greater London. Find your area.

Can you bring crockery?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

What happens on the day

Watching it cook is half the fun. Onion, garlic, peppers and tomato go in first, then the stock and saffron, then the rice, which cooks without stirring. At midsummer, it’s light in Sewardstone until about 9:20pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:05pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:50pm, are better indoors.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and how you want the tapas served.
  2. We put together a tapas selection and a quote.
  3. We arrive, set up and finish hot dishes on site.
  4. Canapés circulate with drinks, or tapas go to the tables.
  5. Afterwards, our equipment is cleared away.

How to prepare

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because each paella is cooked in its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Separate seafood dishes from the rest
  • Check diets in advance
  • Decide whether tapas are a starter, canapés or the whole meal
  • Ask for labels on each dish

Tapas go out to the tables.
