Before you choose a spot
We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:
- Room on tables for sharing dishes
- A spot for our serving station
- An area to prepare hot tapas
As a London location, Northfields is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.

The process
From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you’re free to enjoy your event. Any tapas or canapés are served first as the rice is cooking. At midsummer, it’s light in Northfields until about 9:20pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. By late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm.
- It starts with your date, venue, numbers and how you want the tapas served.
- You get a suggested selection and a price.
- On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
- We serve canapés with drinks or set table tapas down to share.
- We pack down when service ends.
Preparing for the day
- Share the running order, including any speeches
- Choose a level spot for the cooking area
- Name one person we can ask on the day
How to get a price
Most quotes start with a few simple details: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, send us your details through our quote form.

DIY paella versus live catering
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.
Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Questions from Northfields
We’re having a ceremony at Avenue Theatre: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is usually elsewhere. Send us the reception address.
What’s the nearest station to Northfields for guests?
Brentford station, about 0.8 miles south of the centre.
Where do you cater?
London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Northfields.
What does tapas catering cost?
The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we’ll send a quote.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we take the right care.
Should we have more than one paella?
Generally two or three, so every guest has a choice. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we’ll suggest the mix.
Can we have tapas without paella?
Of course. Tapas can be booked without paella.
What space do you need to cook?
Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.
What’s in the pans
Patatas bravas
Always popular and normally vegetarian.
Manchego & membrillo
A simple, classic pairing.
