Planning for every diet

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because every paella has its own pan. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Canapés need staff to serve
  • Label vegetarian and allergen-free dishes
  • Allow more variety if tapas are the whole meal
  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate

Canapés go round with the drinks.

Staff to serve canapés.

Is live paella right for your event?

If you want food that encourages guests to mingle, tapas work brilliantly. The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Why us?

  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu
  • A clear, itemised quote
  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • Served hot, straight from the pan

It can be, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. We will plan unloading around it.

Ealing Broadway station, about 0.5 miles north-east of the centre.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans.

Can you bring crockery?

Yes, on request. Proper crockery or quality disposables can be added to your booking.

Do you cook it at the event?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, in front of your guests.

How we price tapas catering

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Timings and hours
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
  • Travel, parking and access

Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

What we need to know

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • The date and rough timings
  • The courses you’d like
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll suggest a menu. To start, use our quote form.

What happens on the day

When the rice goes in, it’s left alone. That is how the grains cook evenly and the toasted base, the socarrat, forms. The smell usually draws people over. At midsummer, it is light in Ealing until about 9:20pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. By late September it is dark around 7:05pm, and in December by about 3:55pm.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We suggest a selection and a quote.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. Canapés go round or tapas go to the tables.
  5. We pack down when service ends.

Preparing for the day

  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Tell us where to park and unload

How to get a price
