Tapas catering for Deddington events

About our tapas catering in Deddington

Canapé tapas suit standing receptions; table tapas suit seated meals. Lots of events do both. Whether it’s evening grazing and cocktail parties, we can cook Manchego with membrillo, tortilla española and gambas al ajillo and more.

Near Deddington, tapas suit gardens, barns and marquees. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Paella compared with other options

Tapas can be a starter, a reception or the whole meal, which makes them easy to plan around. Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

Deddington questions

Do you come out to small places like Deddington?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Which station should guests use for Deddington?

The closest is Kings Sutton station, roughly 3.2 miles away.

Is it really cooked live?

Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.

Who clears up?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Can you supply plates?

Yes, if you need them. Tell us what your venue provides and we will include the rest in the quote.

How much space do you need?

Not a lot: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. If in doubt, send a picture.

How much tapas do we need?

That depends on their role in the meal. We will suggest quantities for your event.

Do you provide drinks?

Sangria, yes. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Book staff to carry canapés round
  • Collect dietary needs
  • Let us know if tapas are a starter or the main event
  • Make sure dishes are labelled

How the day works

Here’s how the day usually runs: we arrive, set up and start cooking, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it’s served hot from the pan at the agreed time. At midsummer, it is light in Deddington until about 9:30pm, perfect for canapés outdoors. In late September, sunset is about 7:10pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:55pm, are better indoors.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and how you want the tapas served.
  2. We suggest a selection and confirm a quote.
  3. On the day, we set up and prepare the hot tapas there.
  4. Canapés circulate with drinks, or tapas go to the tables.
  5. Afterwards, our equipment is cleared away.

Before we arrive

  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
