Tapas catering for Caulcott events

Tapas catering in Caulcott, cooked live

Canapé tapas suit standing receptions; table tapas suit seated meals. Lots of events do both. Whether it is sharing tapas starters and sharing boards for evening guests, we can cook gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas and Manchego with membrillo for your guests.

Near Caulcott, tapas suit gardens, barns and marquees. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and a queue moves quickly.

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Ask guests about diets and allergies
  • Plan more dishes if tapas are the meal
  • Keep seafood and meat dishes clearly separate
  • Ensure dishes are labelled

Tapas go out to the tables.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • The venue’s agreement to outside caterers
  • A spot for our serving station
  • Parking near the venue

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Perfect for your event in Caulcott

They make a perfect starter before paella.

Big or small, live paella works well. Typical bookings include:

  • Receptions and drinks parties
  • Welcome-drink canapés
  • Work receptions
  • Tapas with a paella main course

If you are looking at a historic venue around Caulcott, check its catering rules early, as many limit cooking.

What your quote should include

  • How many staff are coming, and for how long
  • The venue requirements
  • How late numbers can change
  • Whether travel is included

Choosing a paella caterer

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Standard canapés can feel samey. Spanish tapas bring colour and flavour. When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

Why us?

  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • We cover Caulcott and the whole of Oxfordshire
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Served hot, straight from the pan

Your questions about tapas catering in Caulcott

Which station should guests use for Caulcott?

Heyford station, about 1.6 miles west of the centre.

Do you come out to small places like Caulcott?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

How much tapas do we need?

That depends on their role in the meal. Tell us about the event and we will suggest quantities.

Can you cater for children?

Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.

Do you take everything away?

Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.

Will there be enough food?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a little extra built in. Accurate numbers help.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.

Can we add drinks?

Sangria, yes, plus bar staff for your own drinks.

Step by step

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. At midsummer, it is light in Caulcott until about 9:30pm, ideal for tapas in the garden. In late September, sunset is about 7:10pm; winter receptions, dark by 3:55pm, are better indoors.

  1. Tell us the date, venue and numbers.
  2. We suggest a selection and a quote.
  3. We set up and finish the hot dishes.
  4. Canapés go round or tapas go to the tables.
  5. We clear our equipment afterwards.

Before we arrive

  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking

Prices and what affects them

We’ll give you a clear, itemised quote. What affects it most:

  • Distance and access to the venue
  • The number of people
  • How many staff you need
  • Your choice of paellas

Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What we need to know

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • The venue or postcode
  • The date and time of the event

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you are ready, use our quote form.

For planners, venues and organisers

For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Let us know how long the food break is.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.
