Your questions about paella catering in Ufton Nervet

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Peter: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How far is Ufton Nervet from London?

Roughly 43 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

What happens with live paella?

We set up a cooking area at your venue, cook the paella from scratch in large pans while your guests watch, and serve it straight from the pan.

Is halal food available?

Yes, we do. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

What equipment do you bring?

All cooking kit comes with us. Let us know what your venue has, like tables or crockery.

Is paella enough as a main?

It is a full meal on its own. Tapas and desserts can be added if you like.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, served while the paella cooks.

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: meat, seafood and vegetarian or vegan paellas. Each is cooked separately, so diets are easy to manage. We are frequently asked to cater retirement celebrations and office lunches and staff parties, serving mixed paella, black rice and vegan paella.

Step by step

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so we time everything to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Ufton Nervet until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

How we price paella catering

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • How many guests are eating
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. Our quotes spell it all out.

What we need to know

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • The address or venue name
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • The courses you’d like

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and you will get a menu idea and a price. To get started, fill in our quote form.

The menu, dish by dish

Vegetable and vegan paella

A vegetable paella is not an afterthought: peppers, artichokes and beans with saffron.

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It’s the pan people photograph.

For planners, venues and organisers

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

12 questions to ask before booking

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
