Paella catering near Shaw

About our paella catering in Shaw

Paella was made for feeding a crowd: cooked outdoors in a wide, shallow pan and shared. That’s exactly what we bring to your event in Shaw. Typical bookings include big birthdays and fairs, fêtes and festivals, serving black rice, mixed paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

Around Shaw, events are frequently in gardens, local halls or nearby venues. If access is tight, we will plan around it. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Organising for someone else?

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

Shaw questions

How far is Shaw from London?

About 53 miles from central London.

Can you cook in Victoria Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Ask them first, and we will send any information they need.

Which paellas do you recommend?

Most events choose two or three: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. Our menu lists the options.

Do you do starters?

Yes. Canapé tapas with the drinks, or table tapas to share, served while the paella cooks.

What do you need at the venue?

Less than you might think: a flat spot away from anything flammable, with space to serve. Send us a picture if you are not sure.

Is paella a full meal?

Paella is a meal in itself. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.

Is halal food available?

Yes. Halal paella is cooked with halal chicken and no pork or alcohol, in its own pan.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes. A simple chicken paella is typically popular with children. Include children in your numbers.

Why choose paella catering in Shaw?

Paella compared with other options

Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, so everyone can eat at the same time. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

What’s in the pans

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron.

Space, weather and the venue

Before the day, we’ll agree where we cook. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot
  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we offer

  • Paella Valenciana
  • Vegan paella
  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Seafood paella
  • Black rice (arroz negro)
  • Mixed paella

Should I cook it myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Step by step

The paella is cooked in huge, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, and we agree where that is before the day. Around midsummer it stays light in Shaw until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive early to set up the burners and pans.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

Preparing for the day

  • Give us your final numbers and diets
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Have a level space ready for the pans
