Paella catering for your event in Winterbourne

One cooking area feeds plenty of people, very little goes to waste, and the food is served hot. It’s why live paella suits so many kinds of event. We’re often asked to cater staff parties and work lunches and anniversary celebrations, with seafood paella, vegetable paella and mixed paella.

In a small place like Winterbourne, events are typically in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Why choose live paella in Winterbourne?

Next to a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, because each paella has its own pan. It’s served quickly from the pan, so queues move. Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Winterbourne questions

How far is Winterbourne from London?

Roughly 54 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St James: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking generally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Do you cater for young children?

Yes. A simple chicken paella is generally popular with children. Tell us how many are coming.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.

Can you cook halal paella?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and it is cooked separately.

Will there be enough food?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.

Do you do vegan paella?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

How many paellas should we have?

Typically two or three, so every guest has a choice. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we will suggest the mix.

Organising for someone else?

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We’ll provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

How we price paella catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • How many guests are eating
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Travel, parking and access

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

What we need to know

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Which courses you have in mind
  • The date and time of the event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
  • A picture of the space, if you can

Send us the date, your venue or RG20 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send us your details through our quote form.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
  • Have seats for most of your guests

Paella is best eaten as soon as it is ready, so we serve when guests are ready.

Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago, or serve your own cake.

Why choose paella catering in Winterbourne?

Live paella is made for outdoor events: cooked outside, served hot and shared.

Here are some of the events we cook for:

  • Weddings, from canapés to evening food
  • Naming days and family parties
  • Milestone birthday parties
  • Anniversary celebrations

For guests coming by train, Newbury station is about 3.4 miles away.

What your quote should include

  • The deposit and payment dates
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • The deadline for final numbers
  • Staff numbers and hours

  • Flat, firm ground for the cooking area

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before you book.

  • Vegetable paella
  • Paella Valenciana
  • Black rice (arroz negro)
  • Seafood paella

How it works

On the day, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. In Winterbourne, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 4:00pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Preparing for the day

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Tell us when you want to eat
  • Make sure we can park close by to unload

Dishes our guests love

Paella Valenciana

In Valencia, the recipe is fiercely debated. The traditional pan has chicken, flat green beans and butter beans.

Vegetable and vegan paella

A vegetable paella isn’t an afterthought: peppers, artichokes and beans with saffron, cooked in its own pan.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
