Paella catering in Seaview
Seaview questions
Can you cater a reception after a service at St. Peter's Church?
Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.
Do you come out to small places like Seaview?
No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan a pan with them in mind.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
We can, if you tell us in advance. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.
Can you cook in the rain?
Rain does not stop us, as long as there’s a ventilated cover. We’ll talk it through before the day.
Is live paella good for a large crowd?
It is ideal. Large pans and fast service from the pan make it well suited to crowds.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
Can you supply plates?
Yes, on request. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.
Paella catering in Seaview, cooked live
Keep it simple, or go all out: just paella, or paella with tapas, desserts and drinks. We will suggest what suits your event. On the menu are mixed paella, vegan paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and we’re often booked for retirement and leaving parties and staff parties and work lunches.
In a rural place like Seaview, the setting does plenty of the work: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Planning the cooking area
If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you, and help find another spot. What matters most:
- Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
- Somewhere close to park and unload
- Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
For somewhere as remote as Seaview, early notice helps us plan the trip.
If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think before booking.

How it works
From set-up to serving, we look after the food, so you can enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first while the paella cooks. Around midsummer it stays light in Seaview until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 4:00pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
- The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
- It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.
How to prepare
- Give us your final numbers and diets
- Choose a level spot for the cooking area
- Plan cover in case of rain

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

What’s in the pans
Mixed paella
A mix of chicken and seafood, and a popular all-rounder.
Black rice
Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, and is typically served with alioli. It’s a striking addition to a seafood menu.
Catering for every guest
With a little notice, every diet is easy. We suggest:
- Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
- Put allergy details in writing
- Mention any other courses or food
- Tell us how many children are coming
Once the rice is in, it needs about 20 minutes, so we time it carefully. If timings shift, we adapt.
Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal, or serve your own cake.
