Dietary needs and planning tips
Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:
- Make sure most guests can sit to eat
- Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease
- Confirm allergies by email
- Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice
If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can enjoy your guests.
Tapas or canapés make a good start while the paella cooks.
What paella catering costs
There’s nothing hidden: the quote reflects:
- The length of service
- How many guests are eating
- Waiting and bar staff
- Plates, cutlery and glassware
Tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are optional extras, so you can choose exactly what you need.
Details that help
Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
- Any dietary needs and allergies
- The date and time of the event
- A picture of where we’d cook
Send us the date, your venue or SL6 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send us your details through our quote form.
How it works
When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so we time everything to your schedule. Around midsummer it stays light in Paley Street until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
- Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
- On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
- We serve, then leave our area tidy.
Preparing for the day
- Check the venue allows live cooking
- Ensure we can park close by to unload
- Choose a level spot for the cooking area

Why live cooking beats a buffet
Cold buffets are easy but forgettable, and the food sits out. Paella is cooked in front of your guests and served hot. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Dishes our guests love
Black rice
Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, traditionally with alioli. It is a striking addition to a seafood menu.
Paella Valenciana
Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, not seafood. It’s often the most popular pan at an event.
